A qualifying case is a case where a bereaved family are entitled to meet with Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). They are cases of:
- corporate manslaughter;
- familial homicide;
- causing death by dangerous driving;
- causing death by careless driving while unfit through drink or drugs;
- causing death by careless driving or through inconsiderate driving;
- causing death by driving whilst unlicensed, disqualified or uninsured; and
- aggravated vehicle taking where death is caused.
